Best Beaches Near Kalami, Corfu
Kalami sits on Corfu’s green, mountainous northeast coast — the stretch the Durrell family made famous and still the island’s most beautiful shoreline. Within a short drive or boat ride you’ll find everything from buzzy family beaches with watersports to tiny pebble coves you can only reach by sea. Here are our favourites, all within easy reach of Kalami Bay.
Kalami Beach
The bay on your doorstep. A curve of clear, shelving pebbles below the famous White House, with sunbeds, two or three tavernas, a beach bar, and small boats for hire so you can explore the coast on your own. Calm, clean water and a postcard backdrop — the easiest swim of your holiday.
Agni
A small pebble bay a few minutes south, beloved for its three waterfront tavernas. The Corfiot tradition here is to arrive by boat, moor up, and settle in for a long lunch of fresh fish. Bring water shoes — the pebbles are smooth but the swimming is superb.
Kaminaki
A sheltered pebble cove just south of Nissaki with sunbeds, a taverna and boat hire. Calm, clear and uncrowded — and one of the closest beaches to our villas Marnie and Blanche, perfect for an easy morning swim before breakfast.
Kerasia
Quiet and unhurried, just north of Kalami. A long pebble beach backed by olive groves with sunbeds and a single relaxed taverna. If you want a calm day with space to breathe, this is it.
Avlaki
An open, breezy pebble bay near Kassiopi that catches the afternoon wind — which makes it a favourite for windsurfing and paddleboarding. There’s a good taverna at one end and plenty of room to spread out.
Nissaki & Paralia Nissaki
A cluster of intimate pebble coves tucked beneath the cliffs. Nissaki has a taverna, a bar and boat hire; nearby Paralia Nissaki adds sunbeds and watersports. Crystal-clear water and a real sense of seclusion despite being easy to reach.
Barbati
The largest and liveliest beach in the area — a long sweep of bright white pebbles with sunbeds, watersports, boat rental and beach tavernas. The most family-friendly choice nearby, with shallow, gradual water and plenty going on.
Gialiskari
For a true escape, this secluded pebble cove is reached on foot down a path or by boat. No facilities, no crowds — just clear water and quiet. Pack everything you need and have a hidden corner of Corfu to yourself.
Getting around the beaches
Many of these bays connect by sea, and hiring a small boat for a day (no licence needed for the little ones) is the most enjoyable — and often the easiest — way to beach-hop along this coast. For the beaches inland or further afield a hire car is useful, though Kalami itself is walkable to the bay and tavernas.
Where to stay near these beaches
Our Kalami suites sit right above Kalami Bay — you’re steps from the water, the tavernas and the boat moorings. For a private pool and panoramic sea views a little above the coast, our villas Marnie and Blanche put the whole northeast shoreline within an easy drive.
